A new Fincafé will take place on 16 November. Fincafés are interactive online events to inspire and learn about topics that matter right now current and relevant subjects.
This time, the spotlight will be on the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union that will start in January 2024. The Council Presidency offers a unique opportunity for member states to immerse their administrations in the functioning of the EU. This role comes once every 13 years and the Belgian presidency will be a very particular one as in the last month of the presidency, the EU will hold elections. This means the focus will be on closing files that are already on the table and finalising this legislative period but also on looking ahead to the next commission mandate.
In this panel, invited speakers from different European backgrounds will look into the responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities associated with holding the Council Presidency and will look ahead to what the focus of the next Commission could or should be. This panel will give you the opportunity to get familiar with the Presidency and it’s functioning but might also give you valuable insights into what lies ahead in the coming years.
Join this inspirational exchange of ideas to better understand the European dynamics, and the challenges and opportunities this Presidency brings to society and the financial sector.
We look forward to welcoming you all!
